    11. Enter this number in the Device Registration Page.

    Wii
The Wii is more complicated to register than the other consoles. If you plan to use a wireless router in your room, the router will need registration, but the Wii will not. If you plan on using a USB to Ethernet adapter, you can try and use the web browser, or use the sticker on the device, or follow the steps below.

    1. Turn on your Wii.

    2. From the Wii Menu select Wii Options. (It is the round button in the lower left corner that says "Wii".)

    3. Select Wii Settings.

    4. Scroll to the right to Wii System Settings 2.

    5. Select Internet.

    6. Select Console Information.

    7. The physical address will be listed under "MAC Address." Write this number down and submit this number to the Device Registration Page through the "register a device" secton.

    8. Restart the Wii.

Nope. Only change that would occur is your registrations being reset.

I have noticed a weird anomaly in the South Hall. Consoles do not work directly into the port. They have to be connected through a switch, and the laptop must also be connected through the switch before the console will work.

I have set up 5 different rooms 360s, all 5 didnt work direct to the ethernet jack. 3 of the rooms had switches, all 3 different brands. If I went through the switch, they would get one of the 144.13.xxx.xxx ip addresses, and would beable to connect to Live. After playing for about 5 minutes though, their connection is dropped.

If I plugged their laptop into the switch with the 360, they were able to play continuously.

Any ideas why this could be, or is this just how it is in the south hall. I tell people to get switches so they dont have to switch the cable between their x-box and laptop, but now it appears that using a switch is the only way to get the x-box to work.

HKMC can just plug into the wall for 360's and it works fine and i have no idea why it would be doing that

Couldn't tell you what was going on with that...the network is the same wherever you go on campus; you plug in and you go. There's no special setup required.

The xbox should be restarted after registration, and for good measure you should unplug and replug the ethernet jack before starting back up. As yums said, there is no difference on the network, so I don't know what the issue could possibly be.
